Travelogue Japan Day 2-Shibuya Redux

Shibuya was the location of the first conveyor belt sushi place I had been to.  It was cheap and the quality was decent.  Sadly, I believe that the quality has gone down and no longer worth the visit.  Its inevitable that the pice would go up, 105 to 120 yen on last visit, over the 15 years Ive been to Tokyo.

I went in search for a branch of a chain kaiten sushi place.  This is an offshoot of Genki, another cheap sushi restaurant.  No, Tsco Bell is not selling sushi but this is the first location I had ever seen.

Not far away and next to Tetsu is Uobei.  There is a Tetsu at Shinatasu that I like to go to for tsukemen because it was next to the hotel.  I found this to be an alternative in case Shinatatsu is still closed on my next visit.

The restaurant is set up in rows thats not really conducive to group meetings.  Whem you enter, you are given a pad with your assigned seat number.  Before you are 3 levels of conveyors that will eventually convey the order to you.  You have to remember to hit the yellow button to send the sled back.

Above you is a multilingual touch screen to place your order.  3 items can be ordered at a time..  They have alot of the usual stuff but they also have things you probably might not have seen in other places.  More on that later.

I started with miso kani soup, crab cream croquette, and crab avocado salad.  It was ok but the croquette had little to almost no crab.

Shrimp tempura, cheeseburger, and grilled pork.  The cheeseburger has the consistency found in japanese hamburg steak and the cheese added veyr little to the experience.  they had alot of pork offerings including boiled pork with black pepper and tonkatsu.

During the meal, you can play rock paper scissors.  If you win, you get a discount off the meal.  In 2 attempts, I could not best the avatar *bows head in shame*

The meal was finished off with the dessert platter.  Including a drink option, it comes with vanilla ice cream and chocolate cake wirh strawberry topping chocolate sauce and a fruit jelly.  Most of the sushi items are around 100 yen, 108 with tax.

Browsing through the familiar streets and alleyways, there is this shop at one of the intersections in Center Gai.  It has gone through many iterations including a dim sum shop.  Now its a doner kebab shop
