Travelogue-Seoul Day 2 Gwanghwamun

Smack dab in the middle of the boulevard that runs through Gwanghwamun are two prominent men in Korea's history. King Sejon sits with the mountains as his backdrop. Somewhere behind him is the Blue House. A counterpart to our White House, this is the residence of the President of Korea. For those familiar with the Iris daram, this was the location of the big climatic shootout
As if to stand guard over the King, Admiral Yi Sun-sin stands proud with weapon in hand He stood witness to the taping of the aqction but did not see the finished product

At the base of his statue, Im assuming this was hi ship. If so, it looks formidable. P:robably not the fastest in the fleet but could stand on its own and could stand up to anything at the time

Also in the area is Cheonggy Plaza. This is where the reclaimed stream begins and would be nice place for lunch on a nice warm day. But not today, as its been freezing and windy at times. Luckily, no rain

Cold and hungry, I stop into Photai and order spicy noodle soup with seafood. It was warming but burns on the way down if inhaled too briskly.
