Travelogue-Seoul Day 2 DMZ

I did not intend it as much but today turned out to have a theme, The Korean Conflict between North and South. It starts off with a tour of the DMZ then a stop by the Korean War Memorial. Just an hour outside of Seoul, divisive remnants of the war continue to remind everyone of whats at stake here. Years of tension are still brewing.

Inside one of the blue conference rooms, we are allowed free access between the two countries. Here a Republic of Korea, ROK, soldier and I straddle the border that divides the table and the building as well
Can you believe the DMZ even has mascots?!?!

But, the most poignant thing I saw was this train station, Dorasan Station, to nowhere. It just so happens that this was the last stop on the tour. Nowhere for now that is. This project was started a long time ago and has been completed wiithin the last few years.

As a symbol of their hopes and ambitions, this station will be ready to reunite families when reunification comes to fruition. When it happens, they tracks will already be laid
