Travelogue Bangkok-Day 2 Klong Toey Market

Another morning, another breakfast at the hotel.  The items do change.  There was a chicken curry this morning.  But the western items stay intact.  Heading over to one of the largest fresh markets in Bangkok just south of where I am staying.  Have to head over to the Sukhumvit subway station near Asok Skytrain station.  Terminal 21 mall adjoins the station

Another of the hotspots for adult entertainment is located in this alley called Soi Cowboy.  Gogo bars abound.  But unlike Nana Plaza, this is an alleyway lined with food vendors whereas Nana is a multi-level courtyard.

A few stops south and a short walk gets me to the market.

Its a pretty big maze of streets/alleys as well as open stalls in addition to some covered areas

I saw this fruit/vegetable in a number of places but its the first time I have ever come across it

Lots of fresh vegetables and fruits.  I was hoping to get some fruit to eat like mango and sticky rice but there was none to be found.  There was a number of vendors selling cut fruit

Its that fruit/vegetable again next to the dragon fruit.  I have had dragon fruit every morning so far in a fruit salad from the hotel.  However, their flesh was white in contrast the ones below

The areas with seafood tend to be the smelliest of areas.

The fresh meat market is probably the second smelliest.  Slabs of beef and pork.  Live foul for those want the freshest of fresh

And what would Thai cooking be without the chili.  Ithought there would be places where I could get a bite to eat as I walked around.  No luck so Ipressed on to the next location
