Travelogue Bangkok-Day 2 Chao Phraya River

Got to the last station before the Skytrain crosses the river.  One of many ports along the river lies beneath the beneath the highway at Sathorn pier.

The Chao Phraya Tourist Boat hits a number of tourist spots along the river.  50 baht for 1 trip or 150 baht for all day pass.   The boat does not go to all stops nor as far north as the commuter boats but it does the job for me

The ride from start to finish lasts about 30 minutes when its uncrowded.  A little longer, maybe 10-15 minutes more, when later in the day the number of people increases and packs the boat to standing room only.  A number of points of interest lie on the banks of the river.  Temples, the Grand Palace, shopping/dining establishments

I have read reviews where people rave about Wat Arun.  I planned to comeback during the return trip.  Due to exhaustion and heat/humidity, I had to cancel

The last stop was at Phra Athit.  From here its walk to  Khao San Road, an area favored by backpackers and the younger crowd
