Travelogue Japan-Day 10 Mt Fuji Part 1

Today was a bad day to go to Mt Fuji.  I had booked a bus tour that would take you to the Fuji Subaru 5th station.  There would also be fruit picking

Yesterday, the sunny day, would have been grape picking.  Instead, I opted for today because they get to have peaches

It was 2 hrs by bus from Shinjuku to the northern Fuji area

Not too far from our destination is the theme park Fuji Q Highland.  I had thought about visiting this attraction but the weather was too unstable

They have an impressive list of coasters and rides.  I doubt they opened today due to the wather

When we arrived, the winds were blowing the visitors around.  It was a one two punch of blowing away their umbrellas then drenching them with rain

There were a few buildings including a guest house, lounge and other buildings

I noticed each building always had 2 things; a souvenir shop and restaurants

This one happens to bake up fresh melon pan in the shape of Fuji san

For all I know, and for all you know, this could have been Fuji.  This marks another failed attempt on my part to get up close and personal to this iconic peak

If it can be shaped into a mountain and sold, they would find it here

These are walking sticks people can buy to assist their trek up the mountain during the summer climbing season.  Metal brands are situated at certain locations so you can burn them into the staff to show your progess and where you've been
