Travelogue-Japan, Day 7 Nagoya Part 3

Continuing the rest of the tour.  More views from around the observation deck.  After a while, I forget which way Im looking at.  There are no picture illustrations to show what I am looking at so theres no reference for me to take a picture to remember later.

Some of the moat still contains water but the portion of it directly next to the castle was bone dry.

The building in the foreground is part of the restoration.  When I left the castle, there was a gentleman in a hard hat inviting people to strap on their own hard hat and go up a set of stairs.  I considered and reconsidered as to what could be on display from up there.  In the end, I entered

Housed in the blue building,  more restoration was going among a number of buildings.  Many of the roofs were under contruction and the outer building helps to protect the contents of some of the rooms inside.  The roof on the left actually continues outside while this small portion is protected from the elements.

Outside of the protective structure the partially revealed structure is open to the public.  After some special precautions, you can enter to view some of the treasures inside.

When you enter, you will need to remove your shoes and place them in a lockable cubby hole.  Any bags and backpacks will also need to be stowed away.  Grab a pair of slippers and make your way through.

Inside are a number of cedar clad rooms.  Ropes prevent you from entering the rooms.  This is to prevent damage to hand painted woven wall screens.

You can walk by several rooms that are sparsely decorated but lit to emphasize the images

Many of the motifs explore tigers scenery and chery blossoms

This room had supports that were more ornate than in any other room and more appointed with a small altar in the far wall.

Nagoya Tower

Nagoya Tower which is situated next to a mall called Paradise 21, I believe.  The mall is underground and this flying saucer shaped structure was built over an open atrium.

On the way back, time to pick up an early dinner to eat on the train.  I wanted to eat something that is the specialty of the place I am in.  Miso katsu is a deek fried piece of meat with a miso sauce.  Thats on the top left.  Ive read about their chicken wings made from local chickens.  Along with those specialties, this bento had chicken onigiri, rice balls wrapped in seaweed with a piece of chicken.  I found this at a small deli withing the station.  After beginning to dine, I started to have a thought.  T began to think that I should have eatern at a restaurant for a nice hot prepared meal rather than something cold.  Too late, the train has left the station, literally
