Travelogue Japan Day 3 Minato Mirai(MM)

The Minato Mirai area is somewhat bordered by Yokohama station to the north and Sakuragicho to the south.

The prominent feature is Landmark Tower, the tallest buidling in Yokohama.  You've seen this building in some of the first day pics.  The tower itself is a shopping/dining complex and hotel.  It is connected by seveal moving walkways to the station.  Collete Mae is another shoppinh/dining complex which abuts the station below

MM has a number of maritime attrations owing to its history as a port city.  Somewhere below is the Anpan Man Museum.  Akaikutsu is a shuttle bus that connects the two main areas of Yokohama.  I previously mentioned the division and change of the shuttle's route  We look north to Tokyo in this view

More easterly overlooks Yokohma Bay.  On the island is the amusement park, Cosmo World. and its ferris wheel.  Through the spokes of the ferris wheel you can see the Cup Rmen Museum.  I saw alot of peoplewalking around with their custom cup of instant ramen around Yokohama.  World Porters across the street from both attractions.  Lastly the red brick warehouses just off to the right

A bit more to the south, the downtown/business district opens up.  Chinatown and its neighbor Yokohama Stadium.  Beyond that and  a bit hard to see is Motomachi. A cruise terminal sitson the bay.  The former worlds tallest lighthouse lurks in the picture.  Kamakura is off in the diatance.   In the foreground is Bashimichi subway station

Toyoko Inn usually has some pretty convenient locations throughout Japan and parts of Korea.  Partially obscured by the tall white building, I have walked from the hotel to Motomachi, Chinatown, Red Brick Warehouse to the south.  Ive walked scross that bridge to head north to Sakuragicho, Landmark Twer and MM

Off to the northwest.  In the distance is the snow capped Mt Fuji.  I dont recall if the Raumen Museum is in this shot.  If ti was it would be along the top right

This shot is out of order.  The Nippon Maru is a training ship lacated near the base of the tower.  You glide slowly pas it on the moving sidewalk

Though I was staying nearby, I hadnt planned on visiting MM at night.  Nor did I want to pay another 1000yen to get back up to the observation deck on the 69th floor.  Plus I would not be ble o get the nice panoramics as they have provided
