Miniature Wonderland is a model railroad display on steroids. It was still early and I was planning on coming Monday but a short bus ride whisked me here
Before entering the displays proper, some exhibits showed how things change, the number of various items needed for a display as well as some work areas
The areas covered span much of the world and they are still building. Alot is in Europe with a small area for the USA.
They put in alot of work in the details, but after staring to pick out the littlest things, you do suffer from eye fatigue
There are buttons that activate motions. Sometimes you have to really look around to see where the action is. A video will be uploaded later
Day and night cycles are simulated quite often. It really illustrates how much work went into all the tiny LEDs they used
Mount Vesuvius erupts several times with simulated lava flows threatening the city below
Remains of the ancient city of Pompeii are dug up with the casts of those who didn't make it. Of course minotaurs helped with excavation to this day
I thought the most impressive was Hamburg airport. This due mainly to the number of moving items from planes taxiing, vehicles zooming by, and jet ways being positioned
Planes take off and land on a regular basis
There was a NASA space shuttle that landed at one point. From videos I've seen, the Millenium Falcon made the rounds. I didn't see it, maybe copyright issues
Neuswanstein castle
The Elbphilhharmonie is a close by attraction. There is an observation deck that gives great views of the Elbe River
This opens up so you can see inside if you don't have time to go
Las Vegas, Cape Canaveral, and Miami Beach are all they have. Vegas is not accurate cause the buildings are in the wrong places
I was here for over two hours and opted to just get a bite at the restaurant. They have pasta and other stuff but I went for a simple wurst and fries with a tiramisu to end it
Knowing it would take extra time to post today, I went for something quick for dinner after my nap. At the station, I caved and went for a ddoner
These joints are all over the place. They're relatively cheap, portable, and taste good. Instead of getting it in some kind of bread, I took the box option. Meat layered with vegetables and sauce intermingling with fries
